On September 1 and 2, 2015, “Global IP & Innovation Summit” (GIP 2015) was held in RENAISSANCE Hotel in Shanghai. Numerous IP right owners and experts from China, U.S.A., European countries, Russia and African countries participated the conference. During the meeting IP experts had a chance to exchange views on topics such as IP court, recent decisions on online infringement, licensing, patent prosecution, trademark protection and commercialization of IP rights worldwide, etc.
Our Managing Partner, Mr. Shengping Yang was invited to give a speech on “Alternative resolutions for IP disputes in China”. His presentation on Chinese “dual-track” system to enforce IP rights under consideration of specific Chinese business culture was very well received by the attendees. His hints on pragmatic approaches depicted by concrete cases aroused great interests among the participants.
The Director General of Shanghai Intellectual Property Office Guoqiang Lv opened the summit. His personal presence reflected the significance of the conference and importance of IP issues to the Chinese government.
