In March of 2012, the High Level Forum on International Intellectual Property 2012, organized by Shenzhen Intellectual            Property Bureau and undertaken by BEYOND, was ceremoniously held in Shenzhen Universal Hotel.  Officials, experts,          professionals from IP field, and around 200 representatives from Shenzhen-based enterprises participated in this Forum.

During the forum, BEYOND invited Mr. Cui, a senior expert from Patent Reexamination Board of the State Intellectual Property Office, to introduce Chinese Patent Reexamination procedures, invalidation procedures and the new development of              Chinese patent practice.

BEYOND also invited senior IP solicitors from European countries, the United States, Japan, Korea and other major                 industrialized countries and regions to introduce the IP system of their own States in detail, expatiate the situations that the    Chinese enterprises may encounter when conducting business in these countries and regions, and, how to utilize IP rights     to maximize the development of business operations in these geographical areas.

After the speeches, the representatives from enterprises raised many questions and there was hot discussion on some       most concerned issues between the enterprises’ representatives and IP experts. Shenzhen TV Station exclusively                     interviewed the speakers of this Forum.

By undertaking this forum, BEYOND expected to bring comprehensive understanding of  different legal systems to the representatives, which might help them to set up their IP portfolio and enforcement strategy in a more economic and efficient way.
